Now THAT was a Week 1 banger! Around this time last year, I remember a disappointing Week 1 for many teams. This year, our league’s average loser (98.20) would have gone toe to toe with last year’s average winner (98.64). Better player performances means happier managers, and that was the story of the week. Last year, we saw just 10 starters score 20+ vs. 26 starters this year. Starters going 30+ went from 1 to 6! All that said, it’s still only one week. There’s a ton of football left to be played.
A quick reminder that Free Agency bidding opens back up today, so open up those FAAB wallets to secure your guys! Free agent players go to the manager who bids the most FAAB, with the chronological waiver order serving as the tiebreaker if multiple teams bid the same max amount.

What an absolutely electric week from the r/Matthew squad! Matthew set a personal best in weekly scoring thanks to his rock solid RB duo, TreVore, and of course, our glorious king, Parker Washington. Let’s see if this team has more of these performances in store or if we’re in for a repeat of last year’s burnout. For now my bet is on the former.

Ken Walker and all his Monday night greed have me nervous about his health moving forward, but this is definitely the start I was hoping to see. There are definitely some holes in my roster/depth keeping me from #1, but it’s hard not to be excited. I’ll anxiously hold my breath until the next victim of the curse is revealed, but for now, it’s full speed ahead!

It’s a brand new year! Ethan gets into the W column 6 weeks earlier than last year in the comeback of the week! Ethan was down BIG early on Sunday, but he got 76.6 combined points from his top 3 picks to keep him in the game. Then, Jaxson Dart outdueled Cam Skattebo, Isaiah Likely, and CeeDee Lamb on SNF to complete the epic comeback. Exciting times ahead as this roster gets healthier heading into Week 2.

We would’ve called Sean crazy if he started Jalen Coker and Deebo Samuel over AJ Brown and Davante Adams, but that was ultimately the difference this week. Still, this was a very strong showing from the RB room and of course, the Week 1 steal of the draft, Caleb Williams! I’m just a little concerned about the AJ Brown injury, but who knows, maybe Coker is the perfect replacement.

Jack had a strong week, but he’s probably wishing he had Jeanty instead of Achane for this matchup. Still, nothing to be ashamed of here. 121 points would’ve beaten 7 other teams. Just a tough draw against some great performances from Ethan’s stars.

After going RB zero, not a single WR on this team broke the 10 points threshold. But known RB1 David Montgomery and good old Dallas Goedert did enough to pick up the slack. How fitting that after a disappointing SNF showing from Dak, Rashee Rice took a pass caught behind the line of scrimmage for a TD on MNF, clinching a victory over Devin. Very fortunate for Nathan to get a W here with Nabers coming back and some positive regression due from his WRs.

Cook, Hampton, and Higgins opened the season with floor games, but Patrick Mahomes did enough on Monday night to secure Alex’s first victory of the season. We’ll see about Ladd’s injury, but Alex is fortunate to exit Week 1 with a win, and higher scoring weeks are likely ahead.

It was a tough week for our lottery winner immediately after the highs of a strong draft. Just 3 days after he was drafted, Brock Bowers went under the knife before the season even started. The next day, Drake Maye had a stinker on opening night. Gibbs did his best to salvage a decent ~league average week for Mr. Dinsmore, but NOBODY would have made it past the Korbfort buzz saw this week. This is a tough ranking for me, but I think the standings and the injury report make it fair for now.

This has gotta be the first time I’ve seen a team escape with a W despite donuts from THREE individual players! As a matter of fact, Chey’s trio of zeroes were the only three donuts started in the entire league. Still, that was enough to beat Alexei. Shoutout Josh Allen and the all too familiar JSN (shades of 2025) for clutching up the win in the mid-off of the week.

1 week in and it’s looking like JJettas and friends on Devin’s squad. Surely better days are ahead, but we’re gonna need to see more double digit performances from this lineup in the weeks to come.

Brutal showing from George Pickens that cost Danny a win in Week 1. Feels like surely Burrow, CMC, Pickens, and Garrett Wilson will have much better weeks this season, but it sucks to start the season with an L in a very winnable matchup.

62% of this team’s Week 1 points came from 2 players. The rest of the lineup put up a disaster class, resulting in a league low 78.42 points. Hard to see it getting much worse for Waddle or London, and Kittle will only get healthier, so hopefully this team balances out soon.
